Welcome to MyPantri support. MyPantri is your AI-powered kitchen sidekick — it tracks your pantry, generates recipes from what you already have, builds smart shopping lists, and learns your dietary needs. Below are answers to common questions. If you still need help, we're an email away.
What are the storage locations? MyPantri organizes items across four locations: Pantry (dry goods/shelf-stable), Fridge (refrigerated), Freezer (frozen), and Spice Rack (spices & seasonings). You can move items between locations at any time.
How does expiration tracking work? When you add an item you can set an expiration date. MyPantri shows a warning on the Pantry tab when items are expiring within 4 days so you can use them before they go bad.
How does item stacking work? If you add an item with the same name, location, and unit as an existing one, MyPantri automatically combines the quantities instead of creating a duplicate.
How does AI recipe generation work? "Generate AI" lets you customize ingredients, cuisine, and dietary needs. "Kitchen Sink" creates recipes using only what's already in your pantry. "Quick Recipe" generates simple 3–7 ingredient meals for busy nights.
What does "Cook This Recipe" do? It automatically deducts the recipe's ingredients from your pantry inventory, matching by ingredient name and location, so your stock stays up to date.
How do I create a shopping list? On the Shopping tab tap "New List" to start a blank list, or use "Generate List" on the Recipes tab to auto-build one from selected recipes. MyPantri calculates what you need and skips items you already have.
What is the 3x pantry cap? When generating a list from recipes, if you already have 3x or more of a needed ingredient, MyPantri skips it to avoid overbuying.
What is the dietary profile? It stores your allergies, diet preferences (Vegan, Keto, etc.), and medical conditions (Diabetes, Celiac, etc.). MyPantri uses it to flag allergens in recipes and shopping lists and to personalize AI-generated recipes.
Can I share recipes with friends? Yes — add friends by their @username, then share any recipe to their in-app inbox. They can save a copy to their own collection.
